Together we can Accomplish Our Goals
CMGA is the alumni association for Connecticut Master Gardeners, providing opportunities to share our knowledge and love of gardening throughout the state.
Our primary role is to support the UCONN Master Gardener program, its graduates and its interns by:
Providing financial support in the form of scholarships and grants
Creating and supporting a community of gardeners both within CMGA and the broader community
Providing opportunities for Master Gardeners to share and expand their knowledge and expertise
We rely on our annual membership dues and event attendance to fund these initiatives. In 2023, those dues helped us to fund grant requests for 13 horticulture education projects in every corner of the state. Annual membership dues will remain $30 in 2024.
In 2024, we will continue to plan a year filled with connecting Connecticut Master Gardeners to current horticulture topics, community projects and events -- and with each other.
We encourage environmentally sound gardening practices and support continued educational outreach by Master Gardeners in their communities by :
State-wide grants for MG community gardening projects
MG county extension office support
Scholarships for incoming MG interns and classroom involvement
Quarterly newsletter - The Laurel
