2025 Fundraiser Donation

The Connecticut Master Gardener Association’s primary mission is to support the UConn Master Gardener program, its graduates and its interns.  Direct financial support is provided to both the MG program and individual gardeners in three ways:

  • CMGA provides funds to the UConn MG Program for intern scholarships

  • CMGA provides grants to each Extension Center Office

  • CMGA provides outreach grants to individual master gardeners engaged in community projects

Because of our historical and current support’s impact and success, CMGA will launch a targeted fundraising drive to increase our level of support in four areas.  Individuals may donate monies in any one of these areas:

  • Scholarships. A scholarship award can make or break a candidate’s decision to become a Master Gardener. This year, CMGA funds allowed coordinators to provide as much as 50% support to 24 interns, which represents over 10% of the class.   Our goal is to raise $2000 for scholarships, so that roughly 6 more interns can realize their dream of becoming a Master Gardener.

  • Outreach Grants. CMGA receives more than 25 grant applications each year, most for projects with a high potential to impact the broader community. Our goal is to raise $2000 would provide support for four additional projects.

  • Extension Center Support. As any master gardener knows, the coordinators are the heart and soul of the program.  Our goal of $1800, will provide $200 additional support to each of the nine extension center coordinators.

  • Mission Support. As a non-profit, CMGA has few ways to raise money outside of dues and event registration fees. Thus the CMGA budget is modest – but we’d like to make it more sustainable. Donating funds for Mission Support will allow CMGA to use the funds where they are most needed.  We have a modest goal of $1000 for this category.

We hope you will help us in our efforts to provide additional support for Connecticut’s Master Gardeners.
