Collection of Your Information

Information Voluntarily Provided by You

This is information that you provide to CMGA when an email is sent or when forms are completed online. Additionally, CMGA may collect information about you via web-based forms, other forms of communication, and/or registering for an event or to receive information, products, or services. This information may contain personally identifiable data such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, or any combination of data that could be used to identify you such as your MG program information.

Information Automatically Collected

Use of cookies

When you visit the CMGA website, some information about your computer hardware and software is automatically collected. This information may include your IP address, device and browser type, and domain name. Like many other websites, ctmga.org deposits certain bits of information called “cookies” into a visitor’s computer. Cookies help tell us how and when pages in a website are visited and by how many people. This technology does not collect personal, identifiable information; CMGA uses this technology in order to maintain the quality of the service and to collect general statistics on website usage to enhance our visitors’ experience.

CMGA encourages you to review the privacy statements of any websites you link to from ctmga.org to understand how those websites may collect and use information. CMGA is not responsible for privacy or content on websites external to its own site.

Use of Your Personal Information

CMGA collects your personal information to operate its website and to inform you of CMGA services, answer your questions, send you information, and contact you about events. CMGA does not sell, lease, or rent member information. If CMGA contacts you on behalf of a particular offering by a non-CMGA entity, your personally identifiable information (name, address, email, telephone number) is not given to the third party.

CMGA only shares personal information with your consent or when necessary to undertake transactions you have authorized. For example, we may share and/or verify your information with our UConn Master Gardener program to better provide you with membership services and events within our organization.

Security of Your Personal Information

The CMGA website uses global standard security technology that secures personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.  Your information is protected by encryption, including the use of Secure Socket Layer protocol.

For example, when you place an order (such as but not limited to registering for an event, making donations, or paying your dues) the information you provide about yourself is used solely to complete that order and enter your data into our billing system. Your payment information is sent via an encrypted connection to our third-party eCommerce Payment Processors (ie, PayPal, Stripe) in accordance with their terms and policies. CMGA does not store or have access to your financial information (ie-credit cards, bank accounts)

Retention of Personal Information

CMGA retains personal information related to your current or past membership for as long as needed to provide services and fulfill transactions you have initiated.

Changes to this Privacy Statement

CMGA may occasionally update this document and we encourage you to review it periodically in order to remain up to date with how CMGA is protecting your information.
