Your Tax Deductible Donations to CMGA
CMGA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
As the alumni organization for the CT Master Gardener program, our Purpose and Mission are:
To provide means by which graduates of the Extension Master Gardener Program may:
Extend their knowledge of and interest in gardening and related topics.
Meet and associate with others who have similar interests.
Share their knowledge and expertise, and offer help and assistance to the public through gardening and horticulture programs.
To support the horticultural activities of Master Gardeners and Interns in providing educational outreach to the residents of Connecticut.
To foster communication, education, and esprit de corps among Master Gardeners.
To engage in activities that further the purposes of the Association as defined above.
The CMGA Board of Directors strives to keep our dues reasonable and affordable. With increasing costs, however, we are often stretched to provide the financial support the Master Gardener Program so richly deserves. Nonetheless, we are committed to providing MG Outreach Grants for approved community service projects, scholarship money for deserving Interns in the UConn MG Program, and stipends to the county MG offices to help defray their operating costs.
Through the generosity of our members, in 2019 we were able to award $8,000 in Outreach Grants for MG and Intern projects, $6,000 in scholarships to the UConn Extension Master Gardener program, and $6,750 in grants to the UConn Extension MG County Offices.
The annual CMGA Garden Symposium is our main fundraising event, and we are committed to our policy of offering discount admission to CMGA members and their guests. The receipt of additional monetary donations will help to enable us to continue this member benefit, in addition to all of the other important CMGA programs previously mentioned.
Please consider making a supplemental donation to your CMGA alumni organization, in any amount. You can make a donation when you renew your annual membership or at any time by clicking the Donate button on this page. You can also contribute through your employer’s Matching Grant Program or Volunteer Grants (if you donate time to the CMGA organization) as other ways to help support all of the important CMGA programs. All donations are tax deductible.
As always, we thank you for your gifts of time and talent to the MG program. We extend additional heartfelt thanks to those of you who choose to share financial gifts as well.
